Hi welcome to Raising Precious Seeds! I’m Kathy Martin, I am so happy that you’re here. I am married to my beloved husband Doug for 34 years and mom to eight precious children, (Rebecca, Brandon, Collin, Stephanie, Jeremiah, Matthew, Caleb, and Katelyn). I am first and foremost a child of God. I am passionate about bringing glory to my heavenly Father and helping others through this blog to encourage and equip parents in our highest calling , parenting our children to love God and to serve Him all the days we live on this earth.
My Homeschooling Journey
I have been homeschooling our children since 1996. I’ve learned a lot through these past twenty four years of homeschooling and it is my desire to share and pass along the wisdom I have gained through the years through our successes and our struggles.
How We Started Our Homeschooling Journey
In 1996 we began our Homeschooling journey. My oldest daughter was entering 2nd grade and our son was ready for Kindergarten. Prior to this our oldest daughter attended our Christain school. The Lord brought a sweet godly woman into my life who started talking to me about homeschooling. To be honest I had never even thought about homeschooling our children, but as time went on I could feel the Lord leading our family down this path. Fast forward to 2020 and I can joyfully say that even with the hard times I would not change the path we embarked on.
About Raising Precious Seeds
In 2019 we began our 24th year of homeschooling. Wow I do not even know where the time has gone. Three of our children are on there own, and yes we are blessed with three beautiful grandchildren!
Five of our children are still living with us and two of these children are pursuing college degrees.
Has it always been an easy road? No, but would I do it all over again if asked? Most definitely! The rewards greatly out weigh the difficult times.
My dreams and desires for this blog is to be the Titus 2 woman ,
Titus 2:4-5 “That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.”
Yes, I can finally say that I am one of these woman. 😉 My heart is to come along side each one of you and to encourage you and share the things that I have gleaned through the years.
